A good home is sought for Doris, a 1978 Triumph Dolomite 1300. The car has been SORN for the past 4 years on our rear driveway after I got a new car and my wife, sick of our garden having a car in it that doesn't move, has finally said either the car goes or she does. After long consideration I have decided to sell the car.
I bought the car in July 2001 from a family friend of the original lady owner who had the car from new. She didn't do many miles in the car and kept it in exceptional condition. It was originally rustproofed and the car comes with the original Ziebart Vehicle Rustproofing guarantee (sadly expired now) from 1978. I also have the original sales receipt and original log book and owners manual that came with the car when she bought it. I used the car every day for 3 years driving it to and from work (26 mile round trip) and never had any problems and thoroughly enjoyed driving the car!
The car has now been stood for 4 years and no longer turns over as the battery is flat. The car doesn't have much rust considering it's age and the rustproofing has done it's job mostly but there is rust around the rear wheel arches. I have been told that it won't take much to get this car back to it's former glory but I neither have the time or skills.
